Nova Ren Suma is a New York Times bestselling author of strange, magical, and ghostly young adult novels and a two-time Edgar Award finalist. Her novels include the #1 New York Times bestselling The Walls Around Us as well as A Room Away from the Wolves, Imaginary Girls, and her latest, Wake the Wild Creatures, which came out from Little, Brown in 2025. She was co-editor of the story & writing craft anthology FORESHADOW: Stories to Celebrate the Magic of Reading & Writing YA, which originated as the online publication foreshadowya.com, and her own short stories have appeared in various YA anthologies. She has an MFA in fiction from Columbia University and has taught at Vermont College of Fine Arts and Stanford Continuing Studies and led novel-writing workshops and craft classes with the Djerassi Resident Artists Program, Tin House, Fine Arts Work Center, and the Writing Barn.
