Eileen Robinson has worked in children’s publishing for nearly 30 years, and is still in love with creating children’s books and helping authors gain the confidence to tell their stories. She was an editor with Scholastic, Charlesbridge, and Harcourt, and in 2019 helped build and launch Reycraft Books children’s imprint (Benchmark Education). She started her own independent publishing house, Move Books, which strove to inspire reluctant middle-graders, especially boys, to read. Her mission was embraced by Charlesbridge Publishing in 2022 when they acquired Move Books as a new imprint (now Charlesbridge Moves). Eileen’s debut picture book, I Hear Love, releases in 2028.
“Harold [Underdown] and Eileen [Robinson] are masters in their work. Both instructors are patient, kind, respectful, thoughtful and give great feedback while also focusing on the positive. They were both wonderful to work with and I’d love to take a class with either of them again in the future.”
“Eileen and Harold [Underdown] provided a creative, informative and nurturing environment. Their cohesive chemistry was encouraging, professional, and wide open to our questions and particular problem areas.”
“Eileen [Robinson] critiqued in a way that I’d never experienced. She completely embodied my characters and gave me feedback directly from their own voices. It was actually a spiritual experience.
“Eileen helped me embrace being vulnerable and not hide feelings. Her encouragement gave me faith in my writing and to not give up.”
