There has always been an enthusiastic poetry community here at Boyds Mills, fostered through workshops, retreats and scholarships.
Future poets can now stay in our Poet’s Cottage, thanks to the generous support of our poetry community and with special thanks to Dr. and Mrs. Edward Prokop for their generous support of the cottage, in honor of Judy Burke (left), longtime editor of Highlights magazine.
Judy Burke is the editor of Highlights magazine. She works with a talented team to serve up fun and engaging content to kids each month. Over the years, she has also served as the editor of HighlightsKids.com, edited books and digital products, developed content with licensing and international partners, spoken at writers’ workshops and conferences, and—best of all!—responded to thousands of letters and e-mails from kids. She loves poetry of all kinds.
