The Spinelli Scholarship

The Spinelli Scholarship recognizes the long dedication of two beloved storytellers who have served the mission of Boyds Mills for decades. From the earliest years of our organization, Jerry and Eileen Spinelli helped share our belief that “children are the world’s most important people” famously opening the Chautauqua workshop by reading letters from their young readers, highlighting the humor, wonder, and heart that come from creating poetry, picture books, and novels for children. This scholarship celebrates their contributions to children’s literature and honors the legacy they continue to build at Boyds Mills.
