Ernesto Cisneros is the nationally acclaimed author of EFRÉN DIVIDED. He was born and raised in Santa Ana, California, where he still teaches. As an author, he believes in providing today’s youth with an honest depiction of characters with whom they can identify. Additionally, he strives to build empathy and belonging in our community. His awards include the prestigious Pura Belpré Medal, A Kids’ Book Choice Award, A Poppy Award, A Caliba Best MG, 6 International Latino Book Awards, a SCBWI Crystal Kite Award, and numerous Best of Lists.
